Many people take the opportunity to travel, either during the summer vacation, or because it is a requirement of a student’s course.
Travel is a great opportunity to experience different cultures and environments. Holbeach Medical Centre want to ensure that you remain healthy and protected from important diseases during any trips abroad.
We have developed a comprehensive travel service for registered patients of the practice. Unfortunately, our travel service is not available to individuals not registered with the practice.
Please note we do not offer chargeable vaccinations, if these are recommended you will be advised to obtain these privately.

It is advisable to make us aware of your travel plans as far in advance as possible as some vaccination schedules can take several weeks to complete. We suggest contacting the surgery at least 3-6 months before you travel.
Ask the reception for a travel risk assessment form The form includes information such as locations to be visited, how long for, type of travel and accommodation, past medical history and any previous vaccinations. It is important to include ALL previous vaccinations on the form. Please don't assume we will already have them recorded.
Once you have completed the form, bring it back to the surgery and hand it in to reception. The nurse will assess your travel plans and medical information included on the form and, if necessary, contact you to commence any vaccination courses..
Some vaccination courses can take up to 6 months so it is very important that you complete the travel form and bring it back to us as soon as you can.
There is further information about countries and vaccinations required on the Fit for travel website.
